Reception of the higher education in polish high school |
Lyublin, Helm remained behind, as well as a solemn inauguration of a new school year, with presenting legitimations, indexes and presents. The emotions and worries remained behind and confidence in right choices appeared. This school year a group of five people became freshmen of an extension department of Warsaw Journalism Institute, having branches in eight cities of Poland.
Lately a considerable activization has been taking place between our countries in the sphere of political, social-economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and joint educational and scientific programs. Though Berdyansk is far from the Ukrainian-Polish border, it is situated in the centre of Polish-Ukrainian relationships. By the way, at present a Polish-Ukrainian project “Through Quality - Towards Partnership" is being realized in the city. It is connected with introducing international management standards ISO 9001 into the practice of municipal management.
Cooperation with Polish high schools was a result of a scientific probationary period completed by a candidate of historical sciences, Gudz Marina (Azov Regional Management Institute), on the program named after L.Kirkland on behalf of a Polish-American commission of Fulbright, and a Polish-American Fund “Liberty”. The students of all Berdyansk and regional high schools, as well as high school entrants, have a unique opportunity of combining study in Ukraine and in Poland.
Education is offered at on-site and extension departments of faculties and specialities which are quite new for Ukraine, such as: international relations and management of European Union projects; international relations and customs management; social and economic management, journalistics, mass communications, and also public relations management.
We have chosen the first two specialities. First of all they are prestigious and perspective from the standpoint of job placement, career. Diploma of Polish high schools is certified in Europe. It gives students an opportunity to check their knowledge not only in Berdyansk but also at a European level. Secondly, there is a possibility of studying Polish, getting acquainted with the culture, sites of the neighbouring country. Thirdly, it is possible to go abroad for training in management of foreign economic activity. Poland is closer to Europe not only geographically. Being there, we felt that the world is broader and brighter, that it is necessary to travel, that it is possible to earn money (among guys, 60 % of Lyublin high school students have earned their own cars, and mobile telephones – it is the norm). A great majority of young people believes in God.
Certainly, study is not easy. It is necessary to have enough time for two high schools at the same time. Some adults even say it is not OK “to chase two hares”. Exactly, hares are not worthy of that but education is necessary. The more a person knows - the richer he is and the more freedom he has. Besides, we got new friends in Poland.
In Berdyansk for one and half months we were taking a course of Polish for beginners, and in Poland we continued this process by learning business language. Our classes started, at first it was rather scary but by the end of the first week we already able to take notes of lectures. All the students had books on the taught courses; the teachers from Warsaw, Lyublin were very kind. There is Internet connection with a Polish high school and a part of assignments in the form of completed tests and referats can be sent to the teachers - a distance education is in action. The session is ahead.
But now we make up for the new material at our home institute. All the students by the time of attestation had good results. Our group is growing. At present the full academic groups for getting education at Polish high schools are being formed. We keep on learning Polish at the optional course.
